Now, I normally would recognize these as scams and just delete them. I don't even respond to them because I don't want them to know my email address. BUT they are getting outright ridiculous these days.

My ad was entitled
"Wanted Adult Female Ball Pythons. 2 or More Traded for 1 of Our 2005 Male Pastel."

and this was the email I got

hello

How stupid can some idiots be? Some people this stupid need to be fed to the lions or some big snakes. Anyone have any big snakes that need to be fed?
Notice the guy smelled his name wrong. This is the 2nd email today from the "smart doctor", (both smelled wrong the exact way), and got another from john_male001@yahoo.com. CROOKS!

I receive several of these e mails with each add that I post.I just delete them now.Last year was the same and it became very annoying. Is there anything we can do to stop these fradulant e mails? Rob (Long Island Exotics)

What I do to try and cut it down is I say only US sales...and they don't email you as often...not sure why they would look at that...when they obviously didn't read ASF's ad. But I don't seem to get near as many since I put that. But if you're an international seller...well I guess you're out of luck...lol

Have you tried reporting him to his ISP? See if you can determine his ISP by viewing full headers of the message (often the received line) and forward a copy to abuse@ispname.com ( subsititute the name of the ISP for ispname). This may get him kicked off temprorily, but online scammers usually try to find a new ISP.

You are kind of a pastel king so I figured I'd ask since no one replied to my post below. Are there any ways to easily distingush seperate pastel lines? I have been trying to find traits of each but they are all variable and some Bell's look exactly like Graziani's and so forth. Is it possible to tell what line it is(other than lemons) simply by looking at one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

He's also the long lost Son of the King of Nigeria and wants to help me claim my $1000,000 prize from the international African lottery.
And he also offers great deals on Pharmaceuticals !
All that I need to do is send him my social, bank account number, credit card number and mother's maiden name.
What a deal!
I am very excited.

PS: If you believe this, you should not be on the internet.
I enjoy these poorly written e-mails often joking about them in the office.
Hopefully, no one falls for them..............
Oh yea, Ball Pythons Rock!

.....and I just got the same identical one you posted. I can't delete them fast enough. I like it when they say they're out of the country on business, but the location they name they're in is within the U.S. I can't imagine anyone would fall into this, or even reply to them giving out any personal information. Alot of the emails to watch out for have 911 at the end of the address or tags from another country, like @yahoo(FR), or (UK). It's seeing the 911 at the end of the address that disturbs me. And I hope to hell it's not a reference to 9/11. If I had my way, feeding them off to big snakes would be the easy way out for them either way...

That male I got from you is doing very well. He hammers thawed rats. I have no doubt that he will breed a couple of the ladies this winter. I'll keep my fingers on crossed on everything else going well.

Hey, I'm a jackoff, send me some money.

You REALLY have to be careful. I have a good friend who is quite intelligent and sensible. She is not at all gullible and she still got scammed for over 3 grand and is liable for all of it. She had just bought a house and in order to help make payments she posted an ad on the internet for a tenent, she started receiving replys from some woman in England who claimed to be coming over to the U.S. to start up a new business and needed a place to stay. She used very good english, grammar and spelling in her well thought out E-mail messages to my friend. They even struck up a sort of friendship, or at least what looked like it. In the end, this woman from England sent my friend a postal money order for a lot of money, my friend cashed it and kept the rent money and deposited the rest in an account opened by this person so that she would have 'start up funds for her new business for when she arrived in america' Not long after that, she was notified that the postal money order was a counterfeit and she had to repay the entire amount. The account that she deposited the extra in had already been cleaned out and closed. All in all a very upsetting ordeal for my friend. So yes, people can and do get stuck in these scams. They're not all so obvious and laughable as the example you posted.

I used to get these at least once per week. It's an old scam with no hope of stopping it. Do a search on 419 scam. There is one website that actually "strings" these guys along and gets them to do stupid things. It's actually pretty funny.

I get these every time an ad is posted. Just ignore and delete. They get off reading about themselves here. Why bother. Lets stick to reptiles period. Even a 5th grade student can see thru this crap.

I got one the other day that they wanted to send me a bunch of moeny because my friend had been sent to jail in africa, and had a bunch of money. So the package had already been sent, but they got my address really wrong. They gave a valid tracking number for a UPS package sent from some place in africa to utah or something... I even looked it up just to see how far they went and it was real!!! That was a well thought out scam!!!

Being that i am basically just starting out,i've had very few items for sale.Yet every time i do advertise something,i get the same responses from scammers as well.I even had one respond to a want ad i posted recently.

The irony is.
They must think we are all rich and stupid. When the odds are 90% of us are just the opposite. lol
