How big is too big

Joeycoco98 Sep 08, 2005 09:11 PM

I have an '02 male Flordia that is pretty thick, I thought I read some place that if you can see skin between the scales the snake may be overweight. The scales on my guy are spaced apart on his thickest part so he fits that example. Here is my problem, if he is overweight I am at as loss. I feed him three to four mice at a time (he would take more if I offered) and then I will not feed him again for about two weeks. I feel like I should be feeding him more but he does not look like he is missing any meals for sure. Should I adjust his feeding at all? All comments welcomed.

I'd try two mice per week as opposed to 4 mice every two weeks. That would give him a chance to digest the meals evenly.

actually, that was his feeding regiment before I moved to the every other week scenario. I still need to know how to tell if he is overweight? Thanks for you quick response.
