My snake is insane.

About two weeks ago, I moved up here to go to college and i brought my baby ball python with me. Since the move, he has been behaving very strangely. He spends most of his time trying to escape, something he never did back home. He is also more fiesty when i bring him out to play. He is never aggressive, just much less subdued than I am used to. Is there any way to calm him down, or am I worrying for no reason?

Are you using the same cage with the same temperatures, hide box, etc.? I have seen this on occasion for no reason at all or at least not because anything has changed in their daily living conditions. If it is not because he isn't comfortable in his home anymore, then it will probably pass as it does with mine. Sometimes they have no interest in food and will go right past a warm or live food item and just try to get away. As far as I know, it is just something they go through occasionally. Maybe it is there urge to breed? He may be hitting puberty ;o)

Let the poor little guy settle in!!

Moving is just as stressful as the first time you brought him home. Make sure his home is secure, with plenty of places to hide, and make sure traffic through the room is kept to a minimum without disturbing your daily activities. Don't handle him for at least a week. The behavior should subside over time as he becomes comfortable in his surroundings again.

He's been fine in terms of eating. His temperature is about the same, and his tank is set up exactly the same way. It is a good bit drier here then back home, so could that be a problem. My sister actually suggested the puberty thing, but I really think he's too young. He's only five months old. Thanks for your advice.
