Sand Boa ID please

Moomin Sep 09, 2005 11:15 AM

Hi there

I was just wondering of anyone could identify the species of sand boa we acquired in July please. We keep Kenyans and we're sure it's not that. We have our own thoughts on what species it is but wanted others opinions. It was recovered by the RSPCA as it was found in someone's handbag of all places..lol. It was severely dehydrated and drank for five minutes straight. Two months on it's doing great - eating, drinking and shedding as it should.

And yes, a nice looking one at that. I have a lonely female and have been looking for a male for some time now. Have you determined the gender? My guess is that it is a female.

Good luck with it.

Many thanks for the replies. That was the species we thought it was. It's great to get further confirmation. We don't know the sex, but are guessing it's a female. This is mainly on it's tail shape (we compared it to our male and female Kenyans).

Again thanks for your help
