Just thought I'd share a few photos I just snapped. These are offspring from a Hogg Island bred to a Super-Hypo. They were bred by John Michael. Both females, (Blaze & Flame) just shed and Blaze is the most intensely colored of the group. I shot them against a solid white piece of foam using a flash. My goal is to document them as they grow and capture the changes in color over time. If they turn out anywhere near as intense as the sire (super hypo), I will be thrilled.

my favorite colored boas. You have a lot to look forward to as yours grow! I've never seen one of these hypos brown out like most normal hypos do. Thank the Hogg for that. Plus, the range in color is so very different, but each outstanding.

Awesome looking adults! And yes, I agree with thanking the hogg influence for keeping these guys light colored down the line. Paul Mitchell Jr just proved his own line of Sunset breeding hypoXhoggs with HypoXhoggs.
I am still relatively new to the whole sunset/salmon/hypo/super-hypo thing regarding boas but according to John Michael who produced my group, they are a Sunset CROSS. All I know is these have super potential being the product of a blazing orange-red Super-Hypo and a light colored Hogg.

As far as John's babies go, if he used a Super hypo to a Hogg, they are not Sunset cross. Because he used a Hogg at all, they are F1 HypoXHogg babies. It makes no difference that he bred a Super Hypo to a Hogg, that only gave him a whole litter of F-1 HypoXHoggs, none of which themselves are supers. Breeding your pairs (of F-1s) together HypoXHogg to HypoXHogg should produce F1 Sunsets and sunset crosses. Now, if he bred an actual Sunset to a Hogg, it would stand to reason that he would have a whole litter of F-1 Sunset crosses, but no Sunsets. Perhaps this is the case, though I do not recall him using a Sunset in that particular breeding. I could be wrong about that though. If I'm not, then I suspect there was just a bit of miscommunication somewhere. No harm done. They are very pretty babies, which should produce you nice supers (Sunsets) and crosses.

Thanks for clearing that up a bit for me, Laura. Like I said, I'm still new to the "what makes what" regarding hypos/sunsets etc. I hope mine turn out like yours adults.
