aggressive female basilisk

sincvt Sep 09, 2005 06:24 PM

I acquired 2 basilisks(1 male,1 female)about 2 months ago from a friend of mine who works for a pet store. The 2 had severe snout rubbing injuries(the reason they had to get out of the store)that are healing well for both of them. The female has begun w/in the past week to attack/chase the male, head bobbing at him, biting at his back, etc. What does this behavior mean when coming from a female towards the male? Please help! Thanks for any insight or advice I can get.

Hi,

female basilisks normally turn agressive when they are either gravid or old.

Hope that helps

Ingo
