hi i havent seen my leo shed for 2 weeks and it had a humid hide and everything...it seems like i was going to shed because it turned the whiter but the next day it became dark. Not Vibrant like a after shed skin but dark and dull. Can this be due to stress? Should i Leave him alone or take him to the vet. Is there anything i can do to help her shed??

Thanks in advance

As long as your Leo isn't acting sick and seems normal I guess I wouldn't worry about it.

I have leos that I never see shed. In fact, I don't think I've EVER seen one of my albinos in the process. This is normal, because healthy geckos shed very fast (30 min...is that right?) and they shed in one piece.

You are very right - color dulling (darkening) and color fading are definitely signs of stress. This happens w/breeding for both males and females too.

I think a vet trip would make him MORE stressed out at this point. Like Shelley said, just keep an eye on his behaviour and heavily consider factors in his husbandry/environment that might be potential stressors.

I've watched one of my geckos shed in 10 mins. It really shouldn't take them more than an hour once they start the peeling process.

Hmm, I always happen to catch my leos in the process of shedding. its quite hilarious sometimes. Like a white bag of skin that they peel off and eat. Sometimes it appears like they are wearing a white jogging suit when the head is peeled off but not the rest of the body yet.

LOL it can be quite funny. One time I catch my male shedding and the skin was still all over his head but it all loose, it was really freaky looking. I'm guessing that way they don't like us to see them shedding, they don't want laughed at LOL
