Corn wont eat.

zugzug31 Sep 10, 2005 10:32 AM

I bought a snow corn about 2 weeks ago and it hasnt eaten since september 1st. Ive tried putting it in a seperate container overnight with a pinky and that hasnt worked. Im not sure what to do becuase its been over a week since it ate it the snake is still so small. Could it be shedding or just being stressed?

Thanks in advance
Don

Try braining and puting a couple long cuts on the body of the pink and leave over night in a deli cup. put the pink under a small piece of paper towel so the snake will have cover.
good luck.........RUSS

could be one or both...going into shed or stressed. how do you have it housed? to big of an enclosure, to warm of temps, not enough hiding areas. all these can stress out babies. a week without eating isn't much cause for concern yet. if its getting cloudy, you can tell by the hazy look to the eyes, its going into shedding cycle. some snakes won't eat at this time.
if your feeding f/t, which is highly recommended, try 'wiggling' the pinkie to make it think its alive. works for my snakes.
