Hello all it's me...again!

snake_charmer Sep 10, 2005 02:40 PM

Just a note to let you all know that my family has now settled in our permamnent home (for a good while at least, I hope!) here in sunny South GA. It was our original destination when we left NY state but due to some problems along the way I was side-tracked to the MO Ozarks for a couple of months. Things seem well so far although I haven't had a chance to go herping yet. All but 1 of my kings made the journey safely, and of course it was my best breeder female. I'm going to miss her, she was about 7 years old. But I do have other girls ready to go for next year =) That's if I can figure out a way to cool them down here..it's bloody hot!
Nice to see alot of the same names kicking around, now that I'm back online I can check in here daily again.
Take care all!
~Roo Morris

Here she was with what was to be her last clutch. God rest my sweet Gueniviere, she was a love!

Hi
Sorry to here about your loss.
what about a refridgerator as a cooling chamber , you can control the temp aswell.

Yes I've heard of that, but have also heard that it's too dry an environment for them. Personally I would imagine that could be solved by adding some hefty water vats, anybody know for sure? I'll figure it out, heck, I might be able to just pop them out on the porch for the 2-3 months depending on how low the temps get during the desired period.

To keep the humidity that you need you can install a 50watt ceramic heater controled by a thermostat and easily raise the humidity to whatever you need..

I hope this helps..

...and I'm glad that you're settled and back online. Although, I am sorry to hear about that loss, she was (is) a beauty. I hope you can keep her bloodline going. Welcome Back.

Thanks for the thoughts, she was indeed a beauty. And yes, I have a young daughter of hers who is almost identical and quite a few other of her offspring who will be ready to go in a couple of years.

How are things up in NY? I kinda miss it but kinda don't, lol. But I do think I'll miss the good snows the most...the screaming cold winds I can certainly do without! Hope all is well for you, take care.
