Heating..

CodyNolen Sep 10, 2005 06:22 PM

I am currently just using a uth. It provides the proper basking temp.

But how do I provide the ambient temp of 80? Heat tape?

Right now it's 79 degrees.

Also reccomend a thermostat.

If this is just a pet, then it should normally be fine at your normal room temps and the basking spot you are providing (unless you like it really cold or if it is in the basement). If you want better control over your under tank heat, then I recommend the Johnson Controls A419ABC-1C digital temperature controller. It is quite accurate and reliable. It is less expensive then the Helix and has more features then the Ranco. It can be wired for a night time temp drop (offset) if you should need it in the future.
