New Crestie Keeper

AFTfanatic Sep 10, 2005 06:27 PM

Hi, I'm brand new to the world of Crested Geckos. I've kept several Leos and African Fat Taileds over the years and would like to try something new. I have a twenty gallon tank available and have been looking into a gecko species to put in it. Recently I fell in love with a surprisingly docile and healthy Bibron's gecko at the local pet store, and while I was doing research on them, I fell upon a Crested Gecko website and have become fascinated with them. I've heard about them and seen them before and was intrigued by them, but was too involved in my AFT's to give them much notice. Now that I've learned about them, I've come to the heartbreaking decision between the bibron or a Crestie. Could someone tell me a bit more about cresties, and where I might be able to find them at an affordable price, the ones I've seen are $90 plus, which I can't afford(I'm 14),as opposed to the $15 Bibron. Thanx a bunch for your help!

you should be able to get a juvenile crested that is a buckskin or mild flame for 25-35 dollars, and some decent flame babies/juvies for 30-60 from various websites.
i've never done business here, but www.slizards.com has an ad in the classifieds right now, and he's got some great prices. otherwise there's noahsboas.com as well that has some good lower prices as well.

Hey, thanx a bunch for the help. If I get one, I think I'm going to pick one up at a show;I don't think I can pay for shipping prices. Theres a show in my area in a few months, right around my birthday. Maybe I can talk my mom and dad into going...
Thanx Again!

i got 2 baby cresteds about a month ago from reptildepot.com. shipping sucks but 2 for 140 and the flame (my guess, but could be harley) coloring is sweet. the only problem i have with getting them over the internet is that fedex knocked on my door, and left the package in some abnormal heat (s.f. ca abnormal is over 80)good thing i was home to recieve it. be sure you are.good luck!!!
