The camera is an Olympus C-4000 Zoom.

The noisey/fuzzy pic could just be my photography skill or lack thereof. LOL

Try moving back a little bit........should help with the flash overexposing the pic also......then you can crop the image to show what you want.

Or you can try a tripod to stabilize the camera a bit more.

Check to see if your camera has a Macro setting, when it's on there should be a little Tulip Icon that appears on the screen... The Macro setting is for small objects that are taken at a very close distance. And your camera might have a feature for the picture snap button if you lightly press the snap button the camera should focus and beep when ready, while holding it steady, press down and take the picture. With a very small amount of practice you'll be taking crisp, clear pictures..

These pictures were taken with a 5yr old Sony 1.3 megapixel camera.. The huge brick cameras...

Sorry about all the pics, got carried away looking through my photobucket.. I also believe that natural outdoor lighting helps a TON.

Most of the time I use a 24" ReptiSun strip light in conjunction with a 100 watt light bulb in a 8.5" dome fixture, I prop the lights about 20" above where I'm taking the picture, but the last picture was taken outside in natural sunlight.. Another note I forgot to add when using the macro setting is to get the camera as close as possible, don't use the zoom feature, the picture becomes more distorted when using the Zoom feature.. Most of my pics are snapped within inches of the snake...

Ahhhh! Nice tip I have always used the zoom feature as well as the macro feature on my digital camera but never seem to get as clear a picture as I have seen posted here. Considering my camera is newer than yours with more pixel capability (3.2), I deffinitely can see it's my lousy photographic skills that are making the difference LOL. Here I thought people were using professional quality photography equipment.

I also deffinitely need a tripod. Also a bigger memory card and if I can find it, an ac adapter. I know there is one available for my camera but to find one. I am so tired of having batteries die on me whenever I decide to take the critters out for pictures or trying to transfer them to my computer.

Now, if only I can get the critters to stay still long enough for me to take a picture.
