Hi there,
I wondered wether anyone owns any of these two rare subspecies/species of Chelydra. I will receive 1.0 of each of them in a few weeks and wondered if anyone has any data of successfully keeping them?
Tom

I have not heard of any subspecies of snapping turtle. Can you tell us more about them and/or give sources?
Ian
The four subspecies of common snapping turtle are:
Chelydra serpentina serpentina
Chelydra serpentina osceola
Chelydra serpentina rossignoni
Chelydra serpentina acutirostris
A search on the web will give more detailed information.
They are just as easy as the other species of snapper. To keep and to breed. C.acutirostris (South American variety) and C.rosignoni (Central American).
