Feeding Hatchlings

Leapfrog1975 Sep 12, 2005 04:46 AM

We have a couple of hatchlings, just 4 and 5 days old. We just discovered pinworms in our older leo's. (The larger pinworms that can be seen in the feces.) We are headed to the vet today, but what should we feed the hatchlings? They are separated from the adults, but we are concerned about them getting pinworms from the crickets also. Also about how many crickets or mealworms do you feed them and how often?

Feed them small mealworms. Offer them food everyday. Make sure the feeders are dusted with the necessary supplement(s). Offer as many mealies as they will eat (heck, even leave some in all the time). Don't house the hatchlings together. Consider misting over a humid hide until they are of size. Please only keep them on paper towel.

We keep them on paper towels. The vet said nothing showed up in the fecal but I am still keeping the hatchlings in the other room. Thanks for the help.
