Pics of Harley in her new 'naturalistic' setup. Also, do leos like elevation?

Finally got around to setting my leo up with a brandy-new naturalistic setup. I bought some natural slate tiles from Home Depot and cracked 'em to enhance the look a bit. The slate is atop about 1/2" of sanitized playsand with a bit more used to fill in the cracks, so she doesn't get stuck in a gap. Because I feed her out of a dish and she has a nice healthy supply of calcium, i figure the small amount of playsand should not be an issue. I am keeping an eye on her when I can though, just to be sure.

A few more slate rocks are glued together and stacked to form a basking area and hiding areas. I found a cool looking rock/branch formation at PetSmart for a few bucks with a built in water bowl, and she seems to like it. This also provides some hiding areas in and behind it.

As you can see, she's lounging on the highest point in the tank, pretty much right up against the mesh tank cover. She's spent a lot of time (during the day and early evening, dont' know what she's up to while I'm asleep) laying up there. Do leos like high vantage points by nature? Is that why she's up there all the time?

Oh, and I'm also in the process of modifying her humid hide with some left over slate pieces, hence its absence from the photos. So no hate mail, k?

Hey there fabulous set up you have there! Very realistic - bet she thinks shes back in Afganistan lol . In terms of height my leo's are the same i built an upper extension onto my tank and now the hardly use the bottom! Dont know if they prefere a vantage point by nature but they sure arent shy when it comes 2 heights!
