I wasn´t sure..

I was told he was 4 ft, but he is only 3...

he is kind of tame... my dwarf caiman is a monster compared with this guy...

I agree with the others that it is a spec. caiman. I'm always a little suspicious of the health of well behaved commons. The last one that came through here like that had a fractured leg and severe bone development problems (see below). I'm guessing it was under pain induced shock most of the time. We had to put it down. I'm hoping yours is healthy and a pleasant exception.

I would get to antibiotic ointment on that open sore on the front of the snout.

Broken leg and evidence of low calcium levels in the bone (the bone should be quite white and dense looking)

he looks good, already saw him walking (runing) and swiming...
he´s a strong guy...

and yes... I used some antibiotic for his snout
