Sorry,But I love my Boa's!Big Mamma ate one of my large rats this evening an diamond shed an ate a small rat!So I reckin it wasnt what I thought it may have been!Ijust dont understand why I lost 2 redtails the male I understand, the female I dont at all!She was a great feeder an never give me any problems other than sometimes cleaning her steralite twice a day because she would knock her water bowl over! Its just since I am disabled all I do all day everyday is watch movies, give my boas the care an attention they need an eat, lol!Them an cammie are my life an,I just couldnt figure out why?Who knows,1Mistake I will never make again is get any more rats from the place I did,I should have went with my first instinct an threw them all away instaead of assuming just because they were in a sepperate ziplock they were fine!Never again! Its time to raise the size of my rat breeding colony again an then I wont have these problems!Well know one said anything below,So too those who care Thanks for reading my posts!Eric[Hypoboa]

Do you think the rats were poisoned to kill them? Sorry to hear about your loss. Good luck on the rest of them. Derek

I am sorry for your loss. I had an adult Guyana sent to me from a pretty well known breeder, refused to eat for me for 4 weeks and then died. She seemed plump and didn't act lethargic or anything. When I emailed the breeder, he refused to respond. I was sorry out of luck and several hundred dollars.

After her death, I found out about necropsies. If you can afford to, and if you have another unexplained death, take the body to the vet for a necropsy. That should be able to tell you cause of death, which could in turn save the rest of your collection.

Just something to consider.

All my best,
Lori

Oh man, Im sorry to hear about the loss of both your snakes this year. I would highly suggest you raising your own food if you have the "time and space" It will help you out if you make some more babies this up and coming year and it will help cut your cost in paying for food every week or so. I am sorry to hear that you loss your girl though. I hope that everything else is going well and that Cammie is doing well. "Baby Face" was a huge hit at the NARBC show this weekend, we had so many people asking about her that it was funny. Her new name is Itty Bitty just because she was so small when we got her and that was my first thing i thought when i saw her. She is a beauty though. I hope everything goes okay for you and Ill get you so pictures of Itty Bitty asap so you can see how much she has grown.

Take care Eric,
Rose Hipskind

Hey, You still need to get me your new number...I got your call the other day, but your phone could not receive any calls.

That stinks that someone would try to give you rotten rats, and possibly poisoned besides. Maybe the person really did not know they were bad. I hope all your other boas are OK. Take a deep breath bro...it will be OK. Good idea breeding your own though. Were those rats from a local person? Talk later, Andy

Hi-I am so sorry to hear about your loss! How was your snake acting?I had a similiar experience and was curious if maybe mine had exoerienced the smae thing. My female was like squeezing her body not all the time.I was curious also where you got he rats man I don't have the space to raise them so I have to rely on the retail rodents and it scares me casue my boas are my babies also!Kyndal
