A new addition(you have to love that red).
I just thought i would represent the blotched king.

Just curious. What were the parents? Did you get them from Gulf Coast Reptiles? Thanks.
I covet
Well, the reason I ask is because Gulf Coast Reptiles is selling "goini" that have been bred with Florida Kings to get desired traits. So the "goini" they list aren't true "goini" at all. Gulf Coast doesn't state this in their ads so buyers are not aware of the true background of the snakes they are buying. I'm sure most people think they are getting "real goini" but they are not. Please people, ask before you buy these different morphs of "goini". If you want non-natural intergrades, this is what you are getting!
What Sean says about Gulf Coast Goini is only partly true.
Any cross between L g goini & L g floridana results in less red animals.
The cross of goini & floridana by Gulf Coast was to create the albino & anery novelty cultivars.
Goini is the most red of the Lampropeltis getula kings.
I would be at a loss to find a cross that would increase the red pigment.
Even Andy Barr's L g crosses with Hondurans are reduced red.

Thanks Stephen.I couldn't agree with you more.I apprieciate peoples concern though when they think something may be a hybrid
that may be misrepresented.
No i didn't get my blotched kings from Gulf Coast.
The on baby was in a group of normal looking Blotched Kings.
.
My blotched kings are hatching even as we speak. The only one out of the egg so far is ugly compared to yours! BUT one of the little noses sticking out of the eggs IS a much brighter color than the others. More pictures would be great. I'll post a pic of the momma snake when I got her as a 6 month old. (and NO, neither of my blotched kings was from Gulf Coast).

Very nice ! That looks an alot like a Blaze Goini that Gulf Coast produces. Especially in the head pattern. There Blaze Goini are hyperythristic (sp.) or something meaning excessive red.
Keith
Very nice!
Do they keep any of that red and if so, to what degree?
it will remain to be seen how much red stay's on this snake, being how i haven't hatched anything like it before.
Lets hope it holds some of that color.
