Getting new Okeetee, have ?

Jeannie May 17, 2003 11:17 PM

I will be getting a yearling Okeetee from Kathy Love either this week or next. It will be temporarily housed in a Iris shoebox until a rack is built in a few weeks. Will it cause the snake undue stress if it is kept next to a tank containing a king snake? I've read that young cornsnakes are fearful of king snake scent (understandably so).

Thanks for any replies,

Jeannie

cornsnakes, but not all of them are bothered by it. They tend to have different levels of tolerance for different things. Personally, I wouldn't chance it, as this is a new snake and if you stress it out too much by this on top of just getting it, it can go off-feed and that is a pain in the neck to fix. Is there anywhere else you can put it?
