Griffon dropped her tail!!!

Aisha Jul 18, 2003 07:01 PM

I was getting her out of her cage when she suddenly jump out of my hand on to the chair beside me. I when to pick her up and she dropped her tail in my hand and ran away. It started wiggling around and I dropped it on the ground and went to look for her. While I was searching the cats started to play with her tail. I finally found her and got her in the cage but what do I do about the sore. Does anyone know what or if I should clean it? This is the first time this has happened to me and it scared the $h!t out of me. I've had her for over a year and handle her on a regular basis so I can"t figure out why this happened. I was about to breed her with my sister's male but I guess that will have to wait now. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you

Aisha,
Don’t worry she will be fine . Just use a damp q-tip to make sure there is no dirt in the wound. Otherwise if you noticed the skin is designed to close in on itself and seal the area up pretty well. So it will heal quite fast. As long as she has good weight she can still be bred, wait a little while till it’s healed though, wouldn’t want an excited male to accidentally tear it open again with his claws or mouth . Best if Luck.
