I am purchasing a new tank, which comes with a Rena FilStar XP filter. I haven't heard of it before, but did research to find that it is a canister filter. Has anyone heard of or own one of these, if so what is your experience?
Thanks,
Meredith

They are pretty good filters for turtle tanks. I have 2 Filstar XP3's. I use one on my 110 gallon and another on my 29 gallon. Its needless to say that the XP3 in the 29 gallon is a little bit over kill but hey "the more filtration the better". And the current created by the filter isn't too strong for the turtle thats in the tank.
What size tank are you getting and what model is the Filstar....XP1, XP2, Xp3.
I am buying a 75 gallon. As far as what model it is, I'm not too sure. The man said it was either an XP1 or XP2. I'm hoping its at least the XP2 and I can use the Fluval 4 I have now, with it, otherwise I'm going to have to shell out a lot of money for another filter I suppose.
