Hi.. I have a young musk turtle, and in the past day or so it has become somewhat listless, and wanting to sit out of the water and just lay there. It used to swim around a lot.
I just gave it clean water so it can't be that. I took a couple pictures (sorry they are somewhat blurry).. maybe someone will know what is wrong here..
How long have you kept it in captivity? May I assume it's wild-caught?
Changing the water will not see immediate results if this is husbandry related. If you don't have a filter and are not changing the water every other day, have an appropriate temperature gradient, and are feeding a quality diet then husbandry is most likely the cause.
My suggestion is to review your care (see musk turtle forum), and if there isn't significant recovery in the next day, seek a veterinarian for treatment.

He is REALLY thin looking. I would suggest a vet visit and maybe a fecal done to check for parasites.....you may want to consider syringe feeding too if he isnt eating.
