Dan has dates for a lot of the snakes. At a quick glance the dates range from April to October, with most in June (looks like).

They are where you find them, on the road, or on the cut, or on the side of the mountain. You just have to go out there and look.

I spent 40 nights there one year and didn't find a single one. By comparison I found about 17 or 18 snakes elsewhere in about 30 nights during that same calendar year.
