I just purchased Sony's Cybershot DSC-H1. I had been taking pictures with a 35mm Minolta maxxum, but I decided to make the switch to digital. Since I was usually bringing my negatives back to moto photo to get jpegs any way, I thought I might as well just cut out the middle man. Besides I usually get more use out of digital images than I do with prints.
I purchased the camera primarily for the 24x total zoom, the 2.5" lcd, and the ability to upgrade the lense. I looked at most of it's equivalents and decided it was probably the best camera I could buy for less than $500.
I'm still waiting for the camera to arive, and can hardly wait. I was wondering if anyone else here is using the DSC-H1, and if so what is their opinion of it? Have I made the right decision in my purchase? My primary interest is photographing wild animals at a variety of different distances, weather conditions, light levels, and states of movement.
