siamese slider? whats the point?

just saw an ad in the classifieds for a siamese slider... now.. as far as i was aware.. they dont live very long with deformities like this... or maybe i am misinformed? seems like a horrible way to live.. cant possibly survive can it?

Some of them do actually live and this one would most likely fare pretty well. As to what's the point of getting one? I can't answer that. I suppose the need to have something unique or unusual is what peaks folks' interest in these oddities. So much so that they will pay top dollar for them even though there is the risk of them not surviving very long.

Most people who buy oddity turtles do so for the sake of having a pet that is extremely unique. I currently own two two headed turtles and one siamese turtle. I got them because they are so unique. Some do live to be very old. A friend of mine currently has a two headed and siamese that is over 5 years old each. Another friend of mine had a two headed that lived almost 20 years. Some live long, some don't. But as an oddity pet owner, I can say I own them because of their difference from the normal turtle and I find them to be extremely unique.
