lights don't work at night when they are off
lights dry out a tank and a ball really badly
under tank heaters with moist cypress mulch that can be wetted is better....(with thermostat or dimmer switch for proper temps)..
balls like it humid more.........and like 84 degrees......

I tried the whole dimmer switch thing... I think it is a bad idea. If the amps or volts on the line change even a little, it throws it all off. Once I checked it and found what I thought was 90F was 110F and I thought my heat tape was going to burn up. I have a bunch of unused dimmers now. The best solution I figured out (now you have to be somewhat good at electronics) is to buy a $20 battery powered home thermostat from homedepot... make some modifications... and for about $30-$40 you have a digital thirmostat thats just as good as the ones anyone else is selling.
If anyone wants to try making this I will post plans if you ask... but I dont want to take the time to make them if no one cares. This will require a small bit of soldiering, and knowing what you are doing.

LOL -
I tried to tell him that yesterday but he said he can't afford to set up his animal properly.
Oh well he'll find out the hard way.
Maybe he'll listen to you.

a heat pad is not the only way to heat the cage for a bp.i appretiate you guys helping me but i got the temps right and didnt have to spend more the $5.and i am setting up the snake right.i have the hides the water bowl the temps are fine and the humidity is fine.
How do you know the humidity is right, did your snake tell you? I guess you'll find out next shed.
Also, how do you heat at night, or is your bulb on 24/7. Good luck feeding in about a month or less.
a heat pad is not the only way to heat a bp.and almost everyone i no and talk to uses a heat lamp and there snakes are fine.
