I have always been interested in these snakes, but now ive took real interest in them and i was wondering if anyone had any information about the snakes that would help me decide. I have had many snakes before and i just cant seem to find much info on this snake. And are there any good breeders who sell them? Thanks alot

I use to own 1.2 house snakes. They are great snakes. Aggresive feeders. I picked mine up at a show however I've seen them in the clasified section many times. I would recomend them for anyone. If you look up care sheets here on kingsnake you can the info you need.
Good luck

Depends. Basic brown house snakes tend to be very cheap. I have seen them in the $20-$75 range depending on age and size. Fancier ones like reds or albinos can be more expensive, as are the other species that aren't so frequently seen.

Houses are very easy to keep and can breed as often as every sixty days.

You find housesnakes at most herp shows, but they aren't abundant. The best thing to do is ask a few breeders there. If they don't have any, they might know which table does. They tend to be easy to overlook as babies.

Make sure they are eating pinkie mice if they are babies. Most do readily, but a few of the smaller ones can be problematic to get started.

Ok thanks, im going to the repticon show in october so that will give me a chance to look around there. I keep reading that they are so easy to breed, i dont know if its true but i guess it is. I dont know if i would breed them.

If you have an adult pair, they WILL breed unless you stop them! It is like keeping mice in that regard.

i dont know i think that the mouse breeding so much thing is overrated, i tried to breed an adult pair of mice and all the did was fight and be smelly, but i didnt give them much patience because i had to keep them in my room so on the third sleepless night of listening to my music loud so i didnt have to hear "skweek skweek skweek (mouse wheel), screeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaccccccchhhhhhhhhhhh sweek skweek skweek (mice fighting over who gets to run on the wheel), ggrrrr growl ahhh ggggrrrrrr grrr grrr( me turning up my music(death-metal)) , thud thud thud "turn it down" (sister hitting wall)"

and on goes the story of noise in my room

Does any one know about this snake? I saw one at a herp show and I loved it. I will get it but first I want some info on this snake. I've heard that it requires some special care in a reptile magazine.
How much do Arora House Snakes Sell for?

Any special requirements for these guys?

Any help on finding information would be helpful.
Thanks.

I have a website here on KS about housesnakes that I put together a number of years back. Some of the breeders info is outdated (I don't have time to update it every year unfortunately), but there is some general info.
