My new baby corn wont eat.. HEEEEELP !!!

adija1 Sep 15, 2005 01:06 AM

Hello.
7 days ago (Thursday Last week) i got 2 new baby corns. One Albino and the other is Normal.I only have frozen pinkies.
The Albino ate a day after i got them without a problem.
The Normal didn't touch his pinky at all.
I tried on Saturday and sunday - nada.On Monday the Normal shed So i thought that was probably the reason for not eating.
Still after the shed didn't eat, tried tuesday and wednesday.
Still - not eating.
The temp is fine, small container, the pinkies are nice and warm,
All good (The albino doesn't give me any problems!!!).
Anyone has any ideas ?
Thx in advance.

Leave them alone for about 3 or 4 days and try again. the more you try, its poosible that you are stressing them.

I bought two snow corns not to long ago, waited a week after getting them before I even offered food. One ate no problem (frozen thawed pinky), the other I found stuck to some tape I had in the cage. (I had used the tape to cover the sharp ends of the eye screws I was using to attached bungy cords which I use to secure the cage lid). Worked her off the tape with peanut butter (advised by another mod here, it's a great technique, works very well and it also keeps the smell of musk down too). Anyway, she didn't eat that week. the following week, found her stock again on more tape (and of course she didn't eat then either). replaced all the tape with round eraser toppers for pencils.

the following week, both snakes ate without any problems. Short version, keep trying once a week, if after a a few weeks she doesn't eat, try a live pinky. Or braining a frozen thawed.

Just get a toothpick and put it through the pinky's brain until some goo comes out.
