do tokays need UV light?

LizardCane Sep 15, 2005 08:55 AM

I seem to recall reading somewhere that they dont since they are largely nocturnal. I just got a young pair, and was wondering what additional lighting I may need besides a heat lamp.

The heat lamp should be all you need, but the UV couldn't hurt if you choose to use that also.

They don't need UV lighting, a basking light is sufficient. But you must suppliment with vitamin D3 as well as calcium.
