I forgot my camera on Tuesday : o(

niki_athena Sep 15, 2005 09:53 AM

Anyways, my husband and I went and hiked Mt. Potosi which is near Moapa, NV. We caught a baby C. bicinctores. This one had to have just hatched he was quite smaller than Cory. I was arguing with myself not to keep him, but my husband kept saying "Nicole you can keep him." I got to keep him for like and hour and my husband accidently let the little critter go and we spent and hour looking for the baby, like looking for a needle in a haystack.

The baby was a cool gray with light yellow sunkiss on head and legs with orange bands across back interchanged with perfect rows of little white spots. Collar was a distinct and pretty velvet black.

We even looked for siblings, but no luck.

How could you forget one of the most important things to bring herping? I don't know how far it is for you, but because of the distance I always back the night before and check my list twice! But I know how disapionting it is to see something spectacular and not have the camera. Sorry about the little guy, but the seasons not quite over yet!

Sounds fun,
Morgan
