Gargoyle Diet for Cresteds?

JonPCab Sep 15, 2005 03:37 PM

Hey all. I accidentally grabbed some Gargoyle diet and mistook it for CGD. I would exchange it, but I spilled a bunch of it! Is it still okay to use for my cresteds or should I just toss it out? I'm assuming it's not good for 'em but still thought I'd ask. Then again I know some companies change the dicription of some Items for marketing purposes.

Thanks

Actually, I use it all the time for my younger Cresteds. It has more protein in it, which the young ones need because they are growing so quickly. I have a bottle of each and the ingredients are almost identical. Same amount of calcium, phosphorus, vitamin A, vitamin D3, etc. The only real difference is the amount of protein each contains (Crested- 20%, Gargoyle- 30%). I've also heard of people using the gargoyle diet on gravid female Cresteds, because they need to keep their weights up to produce healthy eggs. So don't worry, go ahead and use it. At the most all it will do is make your guys gain a little weight. (A chubby Crestie is a happy Crestie!) Hope that helps.

The Gargoyle diet is identical, other than the fact that it has more protein and less sugar. You may need to add a little baby food or something to sweeten it up, but it works just fine.
