I sat on the front porch yesterday afternoon & my tortoises heard me & became very active. It wasn't the day to feed them (I've tried real hard to stick to an every other day schedule) so I put a few chunks of dry Mazuri in for them. I always soak it in water & they scarf it down, but dry was new to them. Each time one would bit a piece, it would shoot away from him. They spent quite a while chasing pieces of Mazuri around the pen & I figured from the sounds they were making, it was probably doing their beaks good to chew on something so hard. I finally crunched the pieces up & they proceeded to devour every crumb.
