Here's some quick pics of the new male.

And a funny pose I caught my female in a couple weeks ago...

wow, very nice male youve got there. im tempted to call it melanistic with all that dark pigment he's got, but i dont think we really have any such terminology for leaftails. nevertheless, he's quite unique and very striking! looks like you got a good one.

and i like that picture of your female too, if she were human, that would be one of those dramatic "get me outta here, i cant take it anymore!!" kinda poses. but obviously you're being very good to your new friends, so i guess she was just giving you one of those poses.

He wasn't quite that dark when he first came in, and its a huge contrast compared to my light colored female. I can't decide if he's stressed now, or if his color has brightened now that he's in his enclosure. He does move around quite a bit compared to the female too. I wish I remembered how my girl acted when I first got her... I hate being a newbie... LOL

But he's eating and pooed last night, so he can't be too bad off. And the green specks are quite bright, so I'm hoping thats his natural coloring and he'll stay that way!

lookin good, what type of camera are you using?
one of my females has some bright spots like that, one patch behind her eye on both sides. it's brigter than the photo looks, the flash kind of throws it off.

and I just arrange the lights so I don't need the flash, and I turn it off. Mostly so I don't get a glare, but also for the geckos eyes. Macro seems to work MUCH better without a flash too, even if some pics do turn out kinda dark...
