tounge not sticky

Hi I have a young Azureus and it does not seem to be able to pick flies or springtails with its tounge. Any help or sugestions would be appreciated Thanks Shawn

Is he getting skinny? How long have you noticed this? Sometimes my frogs will miss the flies. If his tongue is not sticky, he would get skinny fast, although someone just posted on another forum that a frog was still alive after 14 days of no food (the frog was left behind in katrina and rescued after 14 days).

Could the frog be having a coordination problem? Are both of his eyes clear, and is he otherwise moving easily and normally? Is he hitting the mark, but just not getting a hold of the prey? I've never heard of a non-sticky tongue problem, but there are a lot of things I haven't heard of yet. It seems more likely that his aim is a bit off for some other reason.

There are multiple possible factors that are causing this including vitamin A or D3 deficiencies.

His eyes look clear. he is thin but maintaining his weight. he moves a little slower than normal. He also has been spending a lot af time in the water. He has resorted to lunging for his flies and catching them with his mouth.
I use rep-cal with D3 phosphorus free and herptivite with beta carotene once a week.I heard that vitamin A could play a factor in this, I heard that if there is not enough or too much (vitamin A could cause the tounge to lose its stickyness. thanks for any help. Shawn
