...but I don't know what I'd do with it. Lots of blue. Someone will order it soon I'm sure.

RB, aren't you at least tempted?

Just look at its eyes. Must be fresh off the plane.

samsun Sep 16, 2005 03:45 PM

Yes, it's a new arrival, and they originally had it up for $200, then $150, and now $100. They say it was hand-picked and "eats like a monitor," so it may not be in too bad of shape. It also has a seven-day guarantee--not bad. I think Ben Siegel has the same guarantee.

Anyway, I just thought RB might appreciate it. I didn't think anyone would actually buy it, although that's a pretty decent price.

There may be good reason it has been dropping in price. I personally would rather have it look more like one of Robert B's pictures and spend more $$. But to each his own.

samsun Sep 16, 2005 04:43 PM

You're forgetting that I thought it looked immaculate. You two must have a better eye than me. I wouldn't buy an animal if I thought it looked at all unhealthy--why bother. I'm not into the whole rehabilitation thing.

Also, the dealer selling it is not well known--I hadn't heard of them until a few weeks ago. That's one of the reasons he has some difficulty selling his animals. I've purchased a rudi, nile, and a few chuckwallas from him, and all are doing very well. They're good people.

What I see....

Color is a bit muted, eyes are a bit sunken and glassy. Also consider that I (and Jody probably too) am fairly picky. I also see a very likely male, it's right before the 'change' when they become blatantly obvious.

If it was/appeared female.... I would be tempted, but I always am.

I do appreciate it, just not what I'm looking for.

Find a nice female green banded one, and then I am too much of a sucker to refuse.

I agree with Jody, it doesn't appear in all that great of shape, it's also a male, or appears male enough for me to shy away from it (I've got four males already, one which looks alot like that one, just a bit bigger).

I'm easily tempted, but haven't forgotten my trials and tribulations with my first female, so I'd probably still opt for starting a group of very young peachies.

Some old peachie pics for your effort....

a bit better looking in the classifieds but also looks male.

I know of some that just came in so there will be more available.
No idea of the shape they will be in though. Guess that all depends on who gets them and how much they put into them before they send them off.

Nice pictures so you have no females right now at all?? hmmm maybe I should go over and look through what came in.

RobertBushner Sep 16, 2005 05:42 PM

No girl peachies at all.

What ever happened to me being the Peachie pimp? hahahahaha Good old days of being totally ignorant, now I'm just 99% ignorant.

Jody - You could always impress upon Ed the joys of having a trio of Peachies!!! They are beautiful, but aren't they flighty & shy? I thought if we got some, we'd never see them???

They can be flighty and shy. However once used to you they will stay out in your presence. Some of them might even consider interaction with you. This is easier to achieve if you start with babies.

I believe Robert B's are used to him.

Very nice pics. I really like the second to last one, I have never seen a peachie that light. I am in the same boat here, 3 males and one female, other wise I'd send a girl your way. My last juvies has grown very male looking. I have been lazy with the pics, but the pair I have looks much better, they were very dark in the begining and over time they have lightened and brightened up a lot. I am really hoping this next cycle works out. With the time I have with eggs though it seems pretty daunting even if it does work out well.
good luck,
Steve

Hi Steve,

The second last pic is the girl I recently lost. She is also in two other of the pictures, just didn't look as good in the others.

How old are the juvies? I'll keep my fingers crossed that one just appears male now, and turns out to be female.

Stick with it, we need some pretty baby jobi pics. I don't think anyone else here (forums) is even trying. Shame IMHO, they are a wonderful species.

Well if you ever need a male, I got lots of them.

I guess it isn't really a juvie now, its about a year old. It didn't really develope male traits till a few months ago. My other male was the same, it looked female until it was about a year old, then started to get the tall tail. That is the only real feature I recognize easily, there is a difference in heads but it is very hard for me to see in animals other than mine. Very sorry about the female, that was a very nice one. It really is too bad so few people work with jobis, they are a great monitor. It would be nice to see true cb. I guess we just have to keep at it until it happens.

Must......look.......away.......

I can't look at them too long, or else I'll want to get a pair.

Very nice.
