sikore and food questions

uroplatusguy May 17, 2003 11:50 PM

hi i was wondering how many of you guys out there have U. sikore and if anybody has the subspecies, u sikore sameti. I was just wondering because i have 3 sameties and 4 sikore sikore. (i know i was trying to post pictures but it dosen't work with my computer right now for some stupid reason as soon as i can.) my food question is has any body tried to feed their geckos the leachanuis formula of t rex food? i was thinking about trying because were i live it gets really cold and hard for me to get crickets in the winter. (it gets to be 30 below on a good day.) any suggestions and ideas would be helpful. thanks

Hi there, I keep U. Sikorae too. Have you got any pics of your sikorae or the setup?
I'm afraid I've never tried using the dried foods. Could you not mail order the crickets?

You could mail order you some and start to breed them....

i was planning on breeding crickets this summer so i would be able to have steady food as well grasshoppers and silkworms. i was just wondering if they would eat the other foods because i wanted to try variety. they have eaten turkey and chicken based baby foods with only a little bit of hesitation (however 2 males refused to eat it.) my only intrest was variety ofr them. as for humidity i keep them in my basement were it stays pretty cool. i spray them 2 times a day and, depending on the cage are i either have the lights on or off. (the lights are still on a 12/12 cycle) I also have a fan go on twice a day to prevent stagnation for any were from 30 minutes to a half an hour to forty five minutres or more. my current setups are not much until i can get bigger cages for them with the right ventiliation and space.
