I do not argue, whether Melanogaster is deserving of a sub-specific taxon, maybe it does or maybe it does not. It is definately as different in it's characteristics as alot of Boas that already have a different sub-specific taxon. This is a prize example of Melanogaster or Black Peruvian or Ecuadorian. She came in as a baby back in the day when you did not ask to many questions. She is black as night and the belly is also and she is ENORMOUS! She is in a deep shed, in this photo and I will post some better pictures of her, once she comes out. A truly outstanding specimen and GOD knows that I LOVE the dark ones.Call her what you will, but everything that Langhammer described as Melanogaster, is in this animal.......Johnson Herp
