What size FF to feed D. leuc

Fuqua May 17, 2003 11:51 PM

Hi, this is my first time posting on this forum but i've been reading past posts for some time and have found them an invaluable source of information.
Anyhow, I'm going to be ordering my first PDF's (D.leucomela froglets), and need to get my FF cultures going. Will the froglets be able to eat the larger D. hydei or should I start them on the D. melan.? Also, I will be introducing springtails into the vivarium,

Thanks,
GHuey

Start with the smaller flies froglets and juveniles and also adults are sure to take. You can cultivate the bigger flies later for efficiency if you feel it works for you with adult frogs. They will all eat the smaller flies, as well as springtails, pinhead crickets and field plankton. Start with what you know will work, go for bigger, more efficient heidi fly production later.
