Having both species, it depends on where they come from initially. The ornates are bred as cb fairly regularily, so are used to human contact from hatching. The Egyptians are cb sometimes, but many are still wc or farmed, making their dispositions questionable. I always call my ornates the "lap dogs" of my uros. They never run, hide, hiss, tail whip, etc. at any time. They are my uro ambassadors. I have only had my egyptian for a short time, and it is fairly friendly and easy going. I'm sure it will be an awesome uro. The size difference as adults is something you need to consider as far as housing goes. So I guess after all is said and done, I can't really tell you which is the better "pet" as I am happy with both my egyptians and ornates. Good luck in whatever you choose.
