Getting back in the Game

Anyone else hear that noise... the call of the dragon. darn things are calling me again. They're after me i tells ya! It's been a year since i last had a dragon and leopard geckos and snakes just dont put up the antics im used to from a beard dragon(save when worms(or any food) are involved with the gecko).

I need a quick refresher from ya'll on veggies and harness' please.

I cant remember what plants arent on the list because of their acidity or high sugar. Last dragon's salad mix i used was lettuce/spinach/carrot/and mixed steamed veggies. Other than tomatoes, lemons, limes and anything spicey what is not allowed in the acid/fructose section please?

Also, when i gave my friend her free time she was a "free range" beast... does this matter or should i look for my new to where a harness when i get it. Or even better, will it accept a harness? I would love to take em outside and get some sun and play time. Its quite warm here so no problems there...(darn nebraska summers, curse you midlands america!). Im not bitter at all though :D

One Last thing, Are Germans fine in my 40 breeder? Or since they are larger will i need a upgrade?

ok my beardie salad consists of collard greens as a base, with mustard greens, and a "spring mix" stay away from spinach it is high in oxolates with binds calcium... i also don't feed a lot of carrot ... as far as fruit goes.. my beardie likes to eat raspberries, canteloupe, peaches, and grapes.. but he doesn't eat much fruit.. for veggies he gets snap peas, green beans, and squash...

as far as a harness goes.. mine has a harness and an outdoor cage.. he did not like the harness at first but once he realized i wasn't trying to kill him and he got to go outside he calmed down.. otherwise he spends most of his time outside in the cage (when the humidity isn't so freaking high !)

veronicag has a wonderful list full of things to feed to your beardie and it's dietary content .. i will attach a link for you

good luck

in my salad, the base is collard greens, and then i add steamed veggies, romaine, kale, and a liiiiiitle bit of spinach, and endive, and carrots, and on top a piece of apple, some cantaloupe, raspberries, strawberries, or watermelon as treats...the LOVE it!!! as for the harness, go ahead and bring her outside in it, alothugh you should watch as some of the dragons are escape artists and will wiggle their way out. It is perfectly fine for her to free roam in the house, as long as she has supervision. I agree, go to veronicags website, www.beautifuldragons.com

i highly reccommend her website, SO very helpful!
