Is there a difference between AMBIENT AIR TEMP and HUMIDITY?

a_red_furball Sep 16, 2005 06:59 PM

Call me dumb, stupid or a newbie but i just want to know. I'm getting confused between those 2. If there is a difference, how do i maintain a good ambient air temp. and a good humidity.

ambient air temp is simply the temperature of the air in the cage, and humidity is how much moisture is in the air.

as far as maintaining each...I use incandescent lights to warm the air...which also dries it out unfortunately. I counter that dryness with a auto misting device in one of my cages and by just spray misting water in the others. Cypress mulch substrate seems to hold the moisture better, so switching to that from aspen, which sucks it dry, helped too.
