Albino or Normal???

Melinda666 Sep 16, 2005 08:15 PM

Momma is an albino, who knows who the daddy is. I put an albino male in with my girls, but the girls may have been holding sperm. I've got about 25 of these little girls. This one is 5 weeks old.

He/she is whats known as (chocolate albino) this is not genetic it's to do with the temp that they are incubated at.

Chocolate Albino was what I was thinking. The mom's are very light. I incubated at 82 degrees to get mostly or all females. I've read a bit about changing the temps to get a lighter color. I'll have to experiment next year and see if I can get them to lighten up without them all turning male. I really like the light colors.

And how do you tell the difference between an albino hatchling and a normal hatchling?

manhattanherps Sep 18, 2005 03:02 AM

Albinos will be yellow and pink, or brown, depends on incubation temps

albino incubated at 88

albino incubated at 84

normal incubated at 82(actually a hypo tang buy they all look like normals when they hatch)

Thank you very much for the pics and info. I am fairly new at this gecko morph stuff. Had my first babies this season. I think we did pretty well. Had about 30 babies and lost 2 hatchlings. They are growing so darn fast! I will have to look into incubating at higher temps next season. I really like the lighter colors.

Very cute She seems to be an albino to me since normals are banded with black & yellow when they're born.
