Pair of Albino Nelsons Milks

msalem Sep 16, 2005 11:19 PM

These guys are eating hoppers right now and I was wondering how big do they need to be to breed? This is my first pair of milks and I am used to balls so sorry if it sounds stupid.

Thanks,
Mohamed

As a general rule, I would say they need to be 2 1/2 years old and the female should be 3ft.

Alot of people try to push the females into breeding them at 18 months but I think that's too soon. If you do that, the female will miss a year of growth and generally the eggs and clutches are small, so its not worth it.

If they were hatched in the summer of 2004, then they should be ready in the spring of 2007 if they are fed well.

Hope this helps,

Dave

REAL nice albino Nelsoni (my favorite snake, by the way), Mohamed! The brighter one is flawless. Is the other one ready to shed?

Best wishes, and enjoy the L.t.n.'s...
