Ok, so I've been trying to breed my ball pythons for four years now. I have gotten eggs each year, but they have never gotten very far in incubation. The first time, I wasn't prepared and so I know that's why I lost that batch. The second, I kept the temp at 90 and the humidity above 90% in a hovabator, but all the eggs rotted and died. The third year, the same procedure in the hovabator was performed, and the same thing happened. Now, on the fourth, I let my female incubate them. It was going great until she decided she wasn't going to incubate them anymore with only 3-4 weeks left before hatching. I took them out and placed them in a container; I've been monitoring the temp and humidity, keeping it around 90 (maybe a little lower since the other eggs kept at 90 got moldy from the water) and the temp ranges from 85-90. Of the six eggs I had, only one looks like it might still be alive.
What am I doing wrong? How come I can't get any of the eggs to survive? It's getting frustrating, especially since my female and male are reproducing so well (1st year: 5 eggs, 2nd yr: 6 eggs, 3rd yr: 8 eggs, 4th year: 6 eggs).
Please help! Thanks.
