a texas rat or a black rat? im pretty sure its the black rat but i just wasnt completely sure.

does the more closely relatedof the two need tricks to breed to my blizzard corn?

i love white snakes so im thinking of getting a leucistic rat but im not sure which rat to get.

Hi Jake
I would say the black rat .
They can breed over without (Tricks) but as i mentioned in a previous Post for you it is always best to have a pair of each and even better to have a few pairs of each, some females and males are very picky, so to improve your chances its best to have more.

PS: Get some handcuffs for your little sister, she may leave your new corn alone then..lol..

i dont need handcuffs, all i had to do is show her the snake when it comes out of its hide at night and show her how you can see through her with a flashlight and shes happy. she wants to hold it but looking through the glass keeps her happy for now.

i know its best to have a pair but i just dont have the room, i guess im going to have to wait to make hybrids.

I would think the Texas ratsnake, as the Black ratsnake is much larger than a corn. Here's two pics of our "Pearl" corns. Cornsnake X leucistic ratsnake. You get varying degrees of maroon and orange color, plus albinos, and both red and black eye leucistics out of a single clutch.

Size really isnt an issue when it come to close relative's, i thought it was down to genetics to prove how close they are related.
The Great Plains Rat Snake (Elaphe emoryi) is a very close relative on the genetics scale.

Ken what leucistic ratsnake did you use in your corn x rat project, and have you got any pics of the amel or leucistic corn rat crosses to share.
