One of the projects he started, the Irula Tribal Snake Catchers
Cooperative, is a contestant in the BBC/Newsweek/Shell World Challenge. Whichever one gets the most votes wins the grand prize of $20,000. If the co-op wins, Rom says the money will go towards radio telemetry studies (sorely needed) on the snakes released by the co-op after venom is extracted, so that it can be investigated what becomes of the snakes afterwards. Only one vote per person, let's make ourselves heard for a worthy cause!
