Ambilobe & Melleri Pics

urbanjungles Sep 17, 2005 07:55 PM

Just thought I'd throw up an updated pic of my 4 month old Amobilobe...

Hey Victor, I finally named him...meet Bling

And this is the newest addition to keep the Chameleon addiction going. I got this incredible captive-bred Melleri which is just outstanding...he's the calmest and friendliest chameleon I've ever met!

(The red paint is an identification mark from the breeer).

How cute - you can tell they're siblings.

Danny,

Who was the "breeder"? For some reason that animal looks like it might have the starting of scale rot on the dorsal scales. Maybe it is just the picture. Scale Rot is usually a sign of a wild caught animal and I have never seen it on a c.b.b. mellers before including all the ones I produced. It is a gorgeous animal by the way. Hopefully it is just the way the picture is.

Kristina Frances. It must be the picture, lighting, water droplets, something. They are definatly C.B. Most of us have followed the conception, oviposition, hatching and growth of these guys for a long time before we got them ourselves!

She's had remarkable luck with the babies.

Eric,

That is good to hear. I always love seeing true C.b.b. Mellers out there. I truly miss keeping and breeding them myself. I need to get back into Chams as they are a part of my life that is definitely missed.

Hey is that Dere male in your pics one of the ones you got from me? btw they look great!

Yes, he is. The first one I got from you as a barely horned juvi.

Pretty much what Eric said, he's from Kristina and she's put SO much work into these animals and it's quite evident.

Rob, my friend Matt told me that you have alot of experience with Melleri...are you not working with Chameleons anymore?

Danny,

Yes we have alot of experience with C. Melleri as well as with most other species. Presently we are not working with Chameleons at all. I decided to change focus with the buisness a little while back as I was kiling myself. I could not find good help in caring for the animals I kept in stock and was working 20 hours a day by myself caring for the roughly 200 Chameleons (as well as all the other Reptiles)that we would have in stock most of the time. I decided to take a break for a little while. I truly miss the Chameleons specially my Mellers and am sure I will be back in with some again in the near future. We purchased a piece of property as well as a new house last year and have been thinking about building a new, better outdoor enclosure and green house and starting again.
