Okay, so I am a "little" excited, it has been a VERY eventfull weekend...

ChrisGilbert Sep 17, 2005 08:56 PM

So yesterday was a home game, against our rival school (Football). Anyway, we start off good then a storm hits strong, the game is delayed an hour. Okay it starts again, and we end up with a win 38 to 7. Not bad!
Well I woke up this morning unable to talk, a little to much chearing last night. Had to referee 2 soccer games, starting at 9:30 a.m. Then I had to go to work, UGH!
Still unable to talk beyond a raspy wisper, sneazing like crazy (I guess a cold storm and chearing for our team does that to you).
I get home; 9:30 p.m. My mom said there is something for me to open from Purdue University.
Okay, ACCEPTANCE! The surpriseing thing, they haven't even recieved my SAT or ACT scores, and this is only the THIRD week of my Senior year.

Sorry about this off topic post, I am just a little excited, it feels good. Now I have to finish the applications for the Ivy Leagues, ugh.

Here is a Boa picture for your troubles!

That's some fantastic news! I know you must be stoked...Purdue is a really good school! One of my ex-roomates went to Perdue for his undergrad and he loved it there.

Congrats on the early acceptance and the football game victory! Good luck on the rest of those apps...

One of the TOP colleges in the country. How do I know? Both my wife and I are graduates. Me ... 1971 Alumni ... back in the days when Notre Dame cound not handle our football teams (Rose Bowl level) and UCLA could not handle our basketball teams (Final 4 NCAA with Rick Mount). One of my high school buddies is currently Purdue's Head Golf coach (Devon Brouse).

OK, it is obvious that you sparked an old passion. By the way, I had boas in my fraternity house (ACACIA Fraternity), and when they did not eat I gave the food to my buddy at our neighbor fraternity who had rattlesnakes (nothing went to waste).

By the way, I forget where you are from ... I thought maybe PA. My son was captain of the swim team and an All-American on our 4th place National champions at Carnegie Mellon University (Pittsburgh).

OK, I got carried away and I am giving away a lot of my future website's info.

CONGRATS!!! Chris

you should be promoting your old stomping grounds. Why would Mr. Gilbert consider going to school that educated a guy who knows nothing about boas? Okay. You may know a thing or two. Seems I remember you produced a snow or two this year. Definitely don't attend IU Chris. Although I rarely claim it, that's where I received my degree. Great parties though. Maybe if I had spent more time studying, I could get a couple of my 44 snakes to get the deed done. Alcohol always seemed to work back in the day. Maybe I should mix them a drink for the water bowl. What do you think boas would like? Jack and Coke? Gin and tonic? Maybe good old American made Miller High Life?

The trick to breeding is taking some pictures of your snakes and emailing them to me first! LOL

Hope all is well,

I'd be posting pics all day long. I don't think my one little Suriname is pic worthy yet. She needs to get growing. Now my BCI, BCL, and Nics on the other hand... New pics should be coming soon. Thanks for the advice though!

P.S. As I loook over my shoulder... The Argentines are not busy.

I'll have to check on that fraternity.

I do live in Pittsburgh, South Hills. Thanks!

Hey, I think I read it on a post card one...I like the saying..."when your dreams take flight, follow them".

Good luck in school.

At least make it Michigan State for me Somehow I doubt that Big 10 is where you'll wind up... Purdue is a great school and all, but I have to believe at least one of your Ivy League choices is going to scoop you up. Keep us posted.

Thanks for the encouragement. Penn State and Purdue are two of my top picks. I am applying to Cornell and Princeton, at least that is the current plan.

A friend of mine who graduated last year turned down Princeton and Cornell because he didn't want to play football in college, so he went to Penn State. He was also studying engineering.

When posts are made in a forum, even if off topic, they are directed to people that the poster know within the forum. Usually a member frequents one forum and gets to know the people there. And as such would like to share other things with those people not necessarily within the forum topic area.

When people complain about "off topic" posts on any forum, then it means that it is in a manner of speaking interfering with the tos - ie it is causing a disruption. Normal procedure in dealing with such complaints is to move threads to this forum so they don't continue causing a disruption on the previous forum. Now, if you like, I could do something that upsets people even more - I could have the moderators make it standard procedure to hide these types of threads.
