is this ok?

i was planning on a 6 ft tall by 6 ft wide by 3 ft deep cage, however since the frp and wood sheets are all 4 X 8 it would be substantially cheapper if i make it 2 ft deep. would this be big enough for my roughneck? sorry i keep asking questions about his enclosure, but he is still ok in the terrarium he has now, so i have been drawing plans like no other. a lot of em.

on another note, have any of you tried making a cage out of the waterland tubs? i keep toying with the idea of using the medium or large (only difference is really 4 inches and water reservoir depth) and building the walls and roof if i can do it cheap enough.

thanks

So you should be ready to spend $$ to supply its husbandry needs.
2 foot deep for a monitor that gets over 2 foot long is too small. It would be able to climb up and down, you need floor space as well as hieght.

If you do not want to waist FRP or plywood then make it 4 x 8.

i realize they are not cheap, however i wanna try and keep this as economical as possible. i also thought about making the cage 4 x 8, but that will not fit through a doorway. i need it to fit through a door cuz i'm in college and well, im sure you remember how that was. i also do not know the exact dimensions of the room i will be taking at the frat this year (there will be locks everywhere to keep drunk people away from him and my other animals) so once i get there on tues. i will be better able to asses how large i can build his cage. i thought 2 ft sounded small, but i have been reading some random info that said 2 ft deep (and 4 ft wide and 4 or 5 ft tall.... that shoulda been a hint....). wow after reading i think i should just make the waterland tub idea work, then the cage can be easily moved and of the propper dimensions...

what have you guys found to be the most economical way to house a monitor?

thanks,

tha bulkhead is an extra attachment thing for like 10 bucks, and you can drill the hole anywhere you want. at first i thought simply making a pvc frame around it and drilling sheets of frp to the frame (guy at home depot who was real knowledgeable said it should be able to hold up like that, but predrilling the holes is important so the frp can retain its integrity). which would work perfectly for me in college cuz moving wouldn be a breeze since its easy to take appart. problem came when i thought about attaching a door. the biggest plexi that home depot sells is a 6X3, the waterland is like 78 inches wide and the cage will be like 6 ft tall, so i would have to thing of some material i can drill into the pvc that is also lightweight and capable of holding up with the monitor inside and the door closing and opening. maybe if that side is frp and plywood, but i dont know if i want to spend the money to build it and have it not work. additionally the tub itself is $200, which makes me thing it might end up costing more to make this supposedly cheapper cage.
if you get any ideas, write beack.

home depot sells plexi glass thats 72in by 36inchs and its about 1/4 inch thick. now if you got two of thes and put them in indevidual frames so you could either open the top or bottem that might work , you could probably get them cheaper at a glass store plus they will frame it for you there cuz i paid 50 because i bought a peace that was missing a corner when they usually sell for 75$$ at home depot.
