My 1 year old female seems to be trying to dig at the plastic rock in her tank, pretty insistently...I'm concerned that she needs to lay eggs, and I'm REALLY hoping it's too early because I just wouldn't know what to do with them. She often starts trying to dig with her back legs after a little bit of relaxing in the light, for a few minutes. After not making any headway, she continues on to inspect the rock. She looks and crawls all over it, then sometimes jumps into the water, or continues to bathe in the light. Am I just fretting, or does she need her space to lay eggs? I prepared for this a while ago, with rubbermaid enclosure, her own lamp and a bag of soil all ready to go. Please, if anyone can reply with an answer I'd really be grateful.

OH, I forgot to mention, I keep another male (Shiek)in the tank with her as well, and I've seen Link (the female, heh Zelda names..got a bit confused there tho) and he copulating. Also, she may be 2, I'm not sure as I got them as presents. I know for sure that Shiek was a baby, he was tiny, but she was sort of..bigger than one would expect a baby to look... but yea, thanks for any and all responses

she is a redear, right? how big is she exactly? i guess if you already have the supplies, you might as well give her the opportunity to lay, it wont hurt to allow her to, but could hurt if you dont.
